Experience the journey of hope

On Dec. 17 at the Duane Reed Gallery in Clayton, the Arts as Healing Program is hosting a public showing of art created by cancer patients. This reception, from 5:30-8 p.m., will celebrate these patients as artists and also honor their "journey of hope."

Patients created the artwork in the Arts as Healing Program, which offers studio art classes for patients at the Siteman Cancer Center at Washington University School of Medicine and Barnes-Jewish Hospital and their loved ones. These classes enable patients to deal with their emotions and also focus on something besides their disease.

Arts As Healing is facilitated by Medical Photography, Illustration and Computer Graphics at the School of Medicine.
