Horse Series on display at FLTC

Horse Series by Robert Boston is currently on display on the second floor of the Farrell Learning and Teaching Center. The photos in the series focus on the world-famous Clydesdale horses at Grant's Farm.

Horse Series by Robert Boston

Boston, staff photographer for Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, spent eight years at the St. Louis Business Journal before coming to the School of Medicine more than a decade ago.

Along his 30-year career, Boston has photographed a number of celebrated subjects, from President Bill Clinton to the Rolling Stones. The Horse Series, though, is in many ways a portrait of Boston's own childhood.

"I grew up next to Grant's Farm and the pastures where the Clydesdale horses grazed," Boston said. "They were a part of my childhood landscape.

"Starting in the late 80's I decided to go back and photograph these animals in a way that shows how they blend and blur with the clouds, hills and trees — so much a part of everyday objects, yet so different and unique."
